Thursday 23rd May 2019:  New Home Kit and Revamped Clubhouse:

Happy New Kit Willo Fans.

The brand new home shirt sponsored by S&A Builders Merchants will be unveiled in the revamped clubhouse.

Some of our 1st team squad will be in attendance, as well as members of our Youth team.

Doors open from 7pm: Open to all.

Richard Tremewan:
Our Chairman Richard Tremewan was taken to hospital during our match against Chester-le-Street on Tuesday 19th February 2019. Richard is currently still in hospital (11th March)
On Friday 1st March 2019, 360 people packed out Hall Lane to support our legend of a Chairman.

Huge thanks to everyone who attended the game and much gratitude to everyone who donated money across the football community.

We raised nearly £2,000. Absolutely incredible.

The money will be used for Richard’s rehabilitation and will also be given to a charity of his choice.

Get well soon Richard.

Wednesday 9th January: 2019:

Ernest Armstrong Memorial Cup Quarter Final: Willington AFC 0-0 Heaton Stannington.
Willington and Heaton played out a 0-0 draw at Hall Lane: Willo played with 10 men from the 23rd minute when Bradley Burns was sent off.
Willo won 6-5 on Penalties.

🔵 Willington AFC Agree Sponsorship Deal with S&A Builders Merchants ⚪ (9th January 2019) 

Willington AFC is pleased to announce that S&A Builders Merchants will be the new home strip sponsor in a four figure deal. The biggest deal in the club’s history.

S&A Builders Merchants already sponsor Willo’s away strip and when the branch manager of the Crook depot Mr Andrew Howard saw that the home strip was up for grabs he said “It was a no-brainer and he liked the direction the club are moving in”

The deal has been agreed and will run until the end of the 2019/20 season and starts with immediate effect.

The brand new home kit will be unveiled to the fans in the coming weeks.

Willington AFC Chairman Mr Richard Tremewan said “He was excited about the deal and the fact that businesses are starting to realise the importance of social media, with Willington AFC being one of the foremost in the Northern League with Head of Media Dean Midas, the best in his field”

Willington AFC has launched a new weekly podcast.

Head of Media Dean Midas Maynard came up with the idea to keep the fans updated with the club news and to give them a chance to get to know the players, management and the backroom staff.

The Willington AFC podcast will be released every Wednesday evening.

Tuesday 25th September 2018: 
Brooks Mileson Memorial Cup: Shildon AFC 3-3 Willington AFC: Goalscorers: Matty Moffat, Michael Brown 2.

Willington took on 2nd place Division 1 side Shildon in the cup. Shildon was 2-0 up at half-time.

Willo came out strong in the 2nd half and goals from Matty Moffat and two from Michael Brown put us 2-3 up. Shildon then equalised in the 94th minute taking the game to penalties. Willo eventually winning 4-1.

Another famous night for Willington against Shildon.

Pre-Season Fixture News: 
On July 24th 2018 a fantastic crowd of 320 saw us take on the mighty Spennymoor Town at Hall Lane.
Conor Winter opened the scoring for Willo and he also saw a shot cannon back of the bar.
Spennymoor equalised just before half-time then took control in the 2nd half, eventually winning 3-1.
Willington was fantastic and did themselves justice against the National League North team.

Last night’s win against top of the table Blyth AFC has broken another club milestone. Willington AFC now have their best Northern League points tally for 42 years (1976)

Monday 4th December 2017:

On Monday 4th December, Joint Manager Anth Lee, Captain Graham Lazonby, Damon Ellis, Chris Storey and Chairman Richard Tremewan took on the Escape Rooms Durham. The goal was to solve puzzles and get out in under 60 minutes….they did it with 1 Minute 12 seconds to spare.

League Cup: Willington AFC 1-0 Shildon AFC: Conor Winter.

Willington took on 3rd place Division 1 side Shildon in the league cup. Willington defended really well and keeper Lewis Graham made 4 amazing saves to keep it at 0-0.

After soaking up 85 minutes of pressure, a brilliant team moved ended with the ball being played out to Damon Ellis whose cross was powered home by Conor Winter.
